Where’s the heat?

Well, it’s snowing, and snowing, and snowing. Looks like we are in the middle of what may become one of the top 10 snowstorms of the last 100 years. China has seen a similar storm recently. Here in Wisconsin, we have already exceeded our average yearly snowfall total and it just keeps getting deeper.
Al…..Al Gore….HEY! Where is my warming? You took the initiative in inventing the internet, and I am using it now. You also took the initiative in inventing Global Warming, so where is it? Where’s the heat?
Weather is not climate.
Of course it is not.
Firstly, I was making some attempt at humor, however lame it may have been. Hard to be too funny when the prospect of extended digging lies in your near future.
Secondly, however, climate may be defined as the generally prevailing weather conditions of a region. Since many areas of the world have seen no increase and even a decline in some places, it brings into serious question the theory of carbon caused warming. CO2 is increasing and the temperature has not followed suit.
We are basing our public, fiscal and energy policies on an unproven and possibly false theory. And there is no humor in that prospect.
We aren’t basing our policies on any theory.. any theory at all.. well… we’re basing things on the theories of lining people’s pockets..
If you think our policies are based on global warming theories.. uh.. hello.. If we were basing things on global warming you wouldn’t hear all the stink of how our administration is putting their heads in the sand and ignoring the theory..
And, unless you _are_ god.. then any thought on what’s happening anywhere is a theory.
We have banned incandescent light bulbs by 2014 in the US.
We are loading up our gasoline with expensive, engine corroding corn-o-hol
We have raised CAFE emission standards to impossibly high levels, which may tear the heart out of our automobile industry.
We have spent billions of dollars on carbon credits that do nothing for the planet.
We have banned (in various cities) plastic bags, bottled water, barbecue grills, gas powered lawn mowers, etc…
We have public schools that teach about warming as a fact and show the Goracles movie as thought it were the gospel.
Shall I go on? Of course we are making policy based upon an unsubstantiated theory. The only place that you can really find evidence of systemic warming is in computer models programmed by global warming advocates with data collected by other global warming advocates.
give me a substatiated theory so I know what I need to do to prove something.. I suppose we can agree on math.. right?? 2 +2 is 4..
corn-o-hol is a joke.. and the greenies know it.. lightbulbs.. well.. that’s just product evolution.. they burn longer, with less power.. what do you want.. an edison bulb that lasts a week or so??
The automobile industry is just fine.. it’s the workers that are getting f-ed.. Why do you NEED a plastic bag.. bottled water is just re-packaged tap.. why waste a package.. use the tap.. why have a grass lawn to mow anyway.. they just came about in the last 100 years.. go back to clover.. nobody uses their front lawns anyway.. do you??
Grills?? is that a fire hazard law?? during “red-flag” days..
Goracles as gospel.. gospel.. historically a gospel was often over-blown.. like a sales pitch.. so teaching it as gospel would be just as you’d like it taught..
Where do you have all of your data… Rush?? or have you been out in the field collecting data because you are so angry with all those liberals saying the sky is falling??
So what if the earth isn’t warming up.. does that mean we should amp up the pollution.. already we can’t figure out why asthma is getting worse and worse.. already I can’t surf in the ocean for 3 days after a rain because of the polluted run-off..
Already there aren’t enough fish on California’s coast for the fishermen to catch.. the regulations are far after the fact..
But it doesn’t matter what local policy makers so.. they aren’t ever going to enforce the things.. morons will continue to toss their McDonald’s bags out the window at a jogger and slap themselves on the back.
They’ll still dump thier oil down the storm drain.. humans are a lazy animal.. and they damn sure aren’t ever gonna do enough to keep the planet from being inhospitable for them… so .. you’re right.. who cares.. .. gotta have that incandescent light bulb.
Well, thanks for helping me to prove my point. We ARE setting policies based upon junk-science. You state quite clearly that you agree to regulating peoples lives and economic choices to force them to meet your ideals.
Unfortunately, you are incorrect on several points. The US auto industry is a disaster. We have just three sickly major auto manufacturers left. Foreign made cars are dong quite well, but the strangulating regulations we institute have made the US manufacture of cars quite anemic. Now that China and India are buying cars like crazy, we will, unfortunately, be left in the dust clutching our ill-concieved CAFE standards.
If there are truly not enough fish, Shouldn’t you be pushing for global warming so that the seas will overflow with fish? Ever been to a warm ocean area? Warm water= more fish.
My data from Rush? I assume you mean the talk show host and not the band. Does he do scientific studies now? I had not heard. No, my friend, I get data from papers and studies done by universities and private groups, NASA, NOAA, National Geographic. I read alot about climate change…..from all points of view. Do you? Have you researched all the possibilities? Or did you watch a movie and see a picture of a polar bear in trouble. I don’t know, but I have my doubts as to your studies.
Oh, and if someone does not agree with you, it is not good enough to simply slap a “RUSH” label on them and ignore thier agruments. That is weak and smacks of intellectual cowardice. If you are closed minded on the subject, then fine. Just say that you don’t care about facts or studies or my arguments…..it’s ok to have your beliefs….we do still have religious freedom in the US.
Sorry.. still haven’t seen your Gore movie you keep talking about… so I can catch up to you.. can you send me the links to those studies you mention.. I’d be happy to read them..
The NASA and NOAA stuff I see are from guys saying that they have a censor right there with them when they give a speech.. someone who stops them from saying things that aren’t in line with the administration’s line of thought.
US auto industry has made it’s own bed.. its corporate greed and unbending unions aren’t CAFEs fault..
And which foriegn cars are you talking about.. the ones made in the US or otherwise.. is Chrysler still considered a US brand??
As a NASCAR fan, I’m aware that Toyota’s entry into the racing fray is opposed as foriegn.. when their car is the only one made on US soil..
And as to religious freedom in the US.. it supposed to be freedom from persecution… You statement drips with distain.. I’m free to have my beliefs.. but that those beliefs are wrong… I’m assuming you were linking my beliefs in the science of global warming to religion..

If you mean to link religion with a belief held even though it is wrong.. well.. it looks like we’ve found common ground.
Believe what you want.. of course.. But if you’re gonna blog your opinion don’t expect the world to come gushing at you feet marvelling at they insights you’ve delivered to the ignorant massess.
And back to the point of policy making.. If there was a coherent national policy, then the local bodies wouldn’t be clambering over eachother to try and do something… Leadership at a national level is severely lacking.. and that is sad.
Actually pangeanative, I do gotta have that incandescent light bulb. The majority of lupus patients (and people with other autoimmune disorders, of which there are millions) are sensitive to ultraviolet light. Flourescent lights can trigger flare-ups that can be life-threatening to us. I find it absolutely HORRIFYING that I will be forced to be exposed to flourescent lights everywhere I go, even in my own home, because of junk science!
And please don’t say that because I don’t believe that global warming is caused by humans that I am pro-pollution. That’s just ridiculous. I like clean air and water just as much as you do.
Global warming is a natural cyclical phenomenon. It was happening before humans arrived on the planet, and it is not necessarily a bad thing. The Renaissance occurred during a period of global warming, after all. And I don’t think anyone would ever say that the Ice Age was a real blast.

I find that the rabid warming believers rarely are interested in anything that goes contrary to thier beliefs…..which is why I compare it to a religion.
It has all the things that a good cult type religion needs. It has a charismatic prophet predicting an end to the world, loyal followers who hang on the prophet’s every word, heretics who deny the prophets truth, an evil, all powerful enemy trying to undo the prophets work……….gotta love that fire and brimstone.

As to the lightbulbs.. sorry.. Lupus must really suck.. I’m sure some company will still market the bulbs as a medical supply.. and some insurance company will make tons of money off your pain..

But on that note.. I didn’t lobby as a kid to keep lead out of paint.. but I think I’m glad someone stopped all that lead in the homes.. of course.. they regulated that before any global warming stuff happened.. how did they know?!

…hmm.. though, if I lived in a hut in Africa (I’ve lived in the woods without going anywhere to re-supply for a few weeks at a time).. but if I’m there in Africa.. and my government says I need electricity so I can stay up at night and talk… and then they say solar isn’t a good idea.. well. gee whiz.. the lights on America’s lawns have been solar for a long time.. and one government supplied solar panel could supply a whole village with light (from incandescent bulbs no less!!).. and everyone that lived in Arizona.. oh.. 50 years ago.. knows that for hot water all you do is put the holding tank outside on the sunny side of the house and cover it with adobe.. and if you need it hotter, you light a fire under it.
Give me a break.. in the past we were killing off Africans by the bushel-load because Nestle got them loads of baby formula.. then made it so they couldn’t afford it.. thus.. dry moms.. and diluted formula .. equals dead kids..
It is all about money.. whether you acknowlege that or not.
But.. I’m now a convert .. we all live in one world.. it isn’t warming up.. everything is fine.. more than fine, actually.. it’s so good we better go pollute extra so it stays so fine.
