I think there were a few instances where Senator McCain did you proud, and I think he also missed a few opportunities, but: he was dignified and well-mannered.

Senator Obama, on the other hand, was straining at the leash. He interrupted, frequently stood up and tried to interrupt when he couldn't, and had to be reminded over and over and over and over again by Tom Brokaw to stay within the agreed-upon time limits.

But that's not what made me angry. What made me angry was the "Bush said to go shopping" remark. We all have many memories and impressions of the days following 9/11. One that all Americans share is the memory of President Bush's leadership in those days. We all remember him standing at Ground Zero with a bullhorn. We remember him telling us to stay strong, to stay united, and promising us that those who did this were going to pay.

For Barack to reduce that to "go shopping" is a disgusting, self-serving, shameful and disingenuous lie. I find Obama's lying about George Bush's handling of 9/11 to serve himself, just as disgusting as I found gas stations jacking up their prices on September 12. Shame on him and shame on anyone else who repeats that foolish, dishonest talking point.
